Fits I've been Loving!

Writer: fits_n_fashionfits_n_fashion

I want to share with you all what outfits i've been loving recently. I will be sharing pictures of my outfits as I go from my personal Pinterest account which you can find linked on the homepage ;)

Dark Academia Aesthetic

First I want to talk about the whole Dark Academia cozy aesthetic. I've been obsessed with this aesthetic as of this year and I think getting back into reading fictional books and listening to types of classical music might have something to do with it too! I have seen this style and aesthetic all over my social medias, especially Tik Tok! Here are some Dark Academia inspired outfits of mine that i'm obsessed with.

Here I am wearing a black turtle neck sweater with some plaid black and white pants. Now if I was leaving the house I would have paired this with some combat boots, gold necklaces, a side body bag, throw over coat (tan maybe?), and probably thrown my hair up into a cute messy clip or pony. Just picture it for me, ok? XD I've been seeing plaid pants like these around a lot and they are just so different and a perfect way to give your outfit a very academic vibe. If you want to look professional and trendy at the same time, this is the way to go! Sweaters are always in and such a staple for me especially in the fall/winter time. If you ever are in a rush or don't know what to wear, throw on a sweater with some jeans and boots and boom! Looks like you put so much effort into your outfit when really you didn't even have to think about it!

Here is a little visual of a messy hairstyle I did with this look. I will be making another post on here about ways to accessorize and spice up your outfits soon but this is definitely one of them. Hair really can make all the difference with your outfits! Layering is something i'm still learning and perfecting but is such a great way to create amazing outfits when it's freezing outside! Layering a long sleeve under pieces like sweater vests, t shirts, v-neck sweaters, big coats, and much more. I have done some of these and it makes all the difference, being warm and cute?! Amazing. I've also been seeing outfits on my socials like Pinterest which is teaching me not to be afraid of layering big hoodies and coats over one another! It really does look super put together and gives you that sort of business woman in New York City typa vibe.

Here is an example of a new layering combination I tried out recently! There has been this one dark academia inspired outfit popping up all over my Pinterest like this where she has a mock neck/turtle neck long sleeve on under a v neck sweater. I ended up trying it and was a little unsure at first but once I started to dance around and take some pics in my bathroom (LOL) I felt more confident and understood this trend. Definitely will be wearing again. I am obsessed with this whole scholar, cozy outfit aesthetic and will for sure be trying out more styles like this as time goes on and the Pinterest scrolling continues ;) .

Being Comfy and Warm/Random

Now i'm not too sure what to call this section but I want to share some ways i've been staying comfy and warm but still feeling cute and good about my outfits.

Here is a picture of me and one of my best friends when we got all dressed up to go out shopping (miss doing that) but for reference i'm on the left (not holding phone). I found a way to be warm and cute this day in a very simple way by layering a black long sleeved mock neck under my favorite jean jacket. Side note, I highly suggest buying your jean jackets from Target they always have them and this one was only $30! Good quality too. We added these glasses for the funny pictures we were taking in my bathroom but if it was the summer time that could be a really cute accessory even if you aren't wearing them HAHA! Layering necklaces is something I had been practicing but I think i've got it down now! I wear mostly gold jewelry so I layered some gold necklaces with this outfit and threw on some black leggings and felt so cute! Even the most simple outfits that feel plain can sometimes be the cutest outfits!!

Here is another plain and simple outfit that turned out so cute! Definitely a throwback and yes, I have a painting of Kermit on my wall and yes, I know it's iconic LOL! Here I was going through my headband phase from a bad haircut and they can actually be a super cute accessory for your outfits especially when you feel you look a little too boring. I have it on with this black square neckline shirt from Forever 21. I love a good square neckline I feel like they are so flattering and a little different. I also highly recommend buying basics at Forever 21 because they are super cheap and they have everything. Threw it on with some ripped jeans and boom! Super simple outfit that I ended up loving much more than I thought I would! So when it comes to a casual day of running errands or something and don't feel like getting all dressed up, some simple basics always do the trick and look good on everyone (and a plus when it's cold and you want to layer).

I just wanted to throw in a super random example of how I layered this shirt with a long sleeve because I had mentioned layering earlier and wanted to give you all an example. I found this Ariana Grande merch at H&M for something close to $10 and I put it over a classic white long sleeve. Tucked into jeans, this was a perfect outfit for the thrifting day I had that day. Thrifting is such an amazing way to find unique clothes that are so cheap and it's fun! I love going to the Goodwill bins because you can get so much for hardly any money and you can find vintage pieces!

I used to be more scared of wearing flannels any other way then tied around my waist. Now i've gotten more comfortable with them and see them as a way to be so comfy and cute at the same time especially with all the color combinations out there! I got this red flannel off of ROMWE, one of my favorite stores ever. So incredibly affordable and online. Highly recommend checking them out but i'm warning you, it's addictive!!

Again another super simple classic featuring Kermit XD. Sweaters, like i've talked about before, are just the most perfect thing every during the cold seasons. Here I accessorized with some gold jewelry, a fun hairstyle, and a new makeup look. All of these things can have a big impact on your outfits! I've discovered I actually prefer brown eye liner over black! It blends in better and I love putting some on the inner corner of my eye as well to give the allusion its going completely across my eyes like I did here.

Last but certainly not least, SWEATPANTS!!! HAHAHA! I discovered I love colored sweatpants. Especially these light blue ones and some hot pink ones I just got. It is so fun to style sweatpants for a purposeful comfortable look. Here I tucked in a white long sleeve and layered some necklaces as i've learned that fixes any plain shirt. Silver, I know! For some reason I have more silver necklaces than gold but i'm assuming it's just because silver is most commonly offered over gold. A messy bun and my amazing pink fluffy slippers from Target was all that this needed and I felt so comfy and cute and put together the whole day which was a perfect feeling. So when you're feeling lazy, experiment with being cozy!! I hope you enjoyed seeing some outfits of mine that i've been loving and how i've been styling certain pieces. Love! -Lily
